2016 Cheshire Oset Cup Round 6, Report, Results and Video
The 2 Machs Motorcycles, Oset, Cheshire Cup season continued. The penultimate round of the 2016 championship took place at the Alvanley Trials Ground, near Frodsham, Cheshire on October 16th. 44 riders competed in, thankfully, very nice conditions considering the forecast wasn’t overly encouraging.
Steffan Jones returned to his winning ways in the experts class dropping just 3 marks. Three dabs on three different sections, a great result, meaning he owes Dad three pints apparently! Ethan Richardson continued to impress with a second place on 10 marks, a costly 5 on the sandy bank and slippery rooted turn of section one blotted an otherwise great scorecard. Jack Long followed on 13 marks lost, section one again being the tough one.
Callum Heath won the C class intermediates on six marks, the loose sandy turn and bank on section four taking four of those dabs. Gethin Beech-Jones followed on 9 marks lost with his all action speedy style. Ellie Molyneaux completed the podium in third place on 14 with Aidan Willaims just one mark further back in fourth.
Fast improving Isobel Skehan dropped just 3 marks to win the C class Novices. Taking to trials only a few months ago Isobel looks set to follow in previous Oset cup champion & elder Brother Kieran’s footsteps. Keeva Wilcock followed on 10 marks lost in second place with James Wyatt in third on 36 marks.
Joe Chard had a great ride dropping just a solitary mark to win the D class Intermediates from Ellis Barton on 4 marks. Jess Widdowson was third on 5 marks, Molly Barber fourth on 6 marks and Joe Stubbings fifth on 7 marks. A really competitive class where just a couple of loose marks can be very costly!!
Sam Long was the only rider with a clean sheet for the day, winning the D class Novices from Owen Good on 3 marks. Both look set to step up to the Intermediates for next season. Jobe Griffiths had an excellent ride finishing in third on 6 marks with Issac Tilson following on 11 marks.
The youngsters of the E class Novices gives probably the broadest range of marks for the day. Zach Reynolds aced the day to drop only 7 marks. Theo Bottle continues to show promise in his first season finishing second on 52 marks. Logan Price and Ioan Lloyd both are adapting well to their new Oset 16s, Logan completed the podium on 57 marks and Ioan closely followed in fourth on 64.
