2 Machs Motorcycles, Oset Cheshire Cup, Round 3. Results, Report & Video
The third round of the 2 Machs Motorcycles, Oset, Cheshire Cup came around just a couple of weeks after a record 57 rider entry competed at the Frodsham Caves in round 2. Once again the supporting club, Frodsham & DMCC, travelled down to Hales Superbole a mountain bike & mountain boarding centre in Harthill near Chester. Heavy overnight rain was quickly dispersed by sunshine as the event got underway. The hard-packed ground, for the most-part, was perfect for the 50 riders taking part.
Lewis Hurdsman showed his talents once more dropping just one mark all day to take the overall victory in the Expert class. Morgan Shepherd followed, on 8 marks, with series regulars Kieran Skehan and Dylan Hayes closing the gap to the two national level front runners on 15 and 19 marks respectively.
Cumbrian Jack Long again took the win in the Youth C Intermediate class dropping 3 of his 4 mark total on the climbs of section four. Connal Wilcock followed in second place on 8 marks. In a close battle Elliot Cooper took the final podium spot by just two marks from Gethin Beech-Jones. Ellie Molyneux challenged herself and stepped up to the intermediate route having a great ride to drop 28 marks in total.
Newcomer to the series Daniel Warburton travelled up from Earl Shilton to take the youth D inters win on 5 marks with Joe Powell following closely on 7 marks in second place. Harvey Davis snatched the final podium position on 9 marks, from Jack Edwards, decided on most number of cleans. Liam Campbell was another novice taking the step up the Intermediate route, pleased with a 10th place in class for his first attempt. Zane Stout won the Youth D Novice class on just 2 marks, both lost on the tricky turn in section one. In fact it was a close finish throughout the field with Jess Widdowson putting some front suspension mods to good use in second place on 7 marks, Molly Barber just one mark further back in third place. Kobe Perry on 9 marks in fourth and a joint fifth place for Ted Mackman and Ellis Barton both on 10 marks, decided on most number of cleans. Oliver Unsworth chose his Oset over a day BMX racing and enjoyed a good result in 11th place on 24 marks. Oliver Arkwright improved, once again, on his season so far taking 15th place.
Another newcomer, Toby Tyson, won the growing Youth E Novice class on 16 marks from Kennie Brierley who was close behind on 18. Jobe Griffiths completed the podium on 32 with Corey Shepherd snapping at his heels on 36. Another great event at a brilliant venue. On that subject Hales Superbole is open for Electric machine practice all year round on a pay and ride basis. Our next round of the series heads to another new venue in Capenhurst on July 12th.
But before that….
